12,000 metric tons of rice has been distributed among the flood victims

Out of the 19,510 metric tons of rice allocated for humanitarian assistance among the flood victims in 33 districts, 12,846 metric tonnes have been distributed so far.

According to the information received from the flood-hit district administrations till August 16,  4 crores 26 lakh taka has been allocated in cash, and  2 crores 8 lakh 71 thousand 600 takas has been distributed so far. One crore 54 lakh taka has been allocated as baby food assistance and one crore two lakh 8 thousand 106 takas has been distributed.

3.30 has been allocated for the purchase of cow feed and the distribution amount is  2.13 crore. One lakh 7 thousand packets of dry and other food have been allotted and one lakh 41 thousand 742 packets have been distributed so far.

Besides, 400 bundles of corrugated iron have been allotted and so far 100 bundles have been distributed, Tk 12 lakh has been allotted for housing and Tk 3 lakh has been distributed.

Flood-affected districts are Dhaka, Gazipur, Tangail, Manikganj, Faridpur, Munshiganj, Rajbari, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Brahmanbaria, Pabna. , Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Sunamganj.

The number of flood-affected Upazilas is 180 and the number of unions is 1,051. The number of waterlogged families is 6 lakh 89 thousand 548 and the number of affected people is 50 lakh,14 thousand 323 people. The death toll from the floods has risen to 44 so far.

One thousand 84 shelters have been opened in the flood-hit districts. The number of people sheltered in the shelters is 26,489. The number of cattle brought to the shelter is 74,798. 63 medical teams have been formed in the flood-hit districts and 249 are currently in operation.
